An elite alternative asset management firm is seeking an Associate or Senior Associate to join its specialized Data Centre Investments & Infrastructure team. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to execute high-profile digital infrastructure transactions and drive value creation across a growing global portfolio.
The successful candidate will be deeply involved in underwriting new acquisitions, conducting comprehensive market research, overseeing development projects, and managing joint-venture relationships. The position matches title and responsibilities with the candidate's relative level of experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Modelling: Build, refine, and maintain complex financial models (LBO, DCF, and development models) to evaluate potential data centre acquisitions, greenfield developments, and joint-venture structures.
- Due Diligence: Coordinate and analyze comprehensive due diligence workflows, including technical, environmental, legal, financial, and tax workstreams, collaborating closely with third-party advisors.
- Investment Memoranda: Draft institutional-grade investment committee memos, presentation materials, and investment recommendations.
- Asset Management: Monitor the financial and operational performance of existing data centre assets, tracking construction timelines, power allocations, lease-up velocities, and financial KPIs.
- Market Intelligence: Conduct ongoing market research to identify secular trends in power availability, hyperscale demand, AI-driven workloads, supply pipelines, and regulatory changes across target markets.
- Stakeholder Management: Interface with operating partners, joint-venture entities, and hyperscale tenants to ensure strategic alignment and project delivery.
Key Requirements:
- Associate Level: 2–4 years of experience within Investment Banking (Digital Infrastructure, Real Estate, or Power/Utilities groups), Private Equity, or a corporate development role at a major data centre operator.
- Senior Associate Level: 4–6 years of equivalent experience, demonstrating a track record of transaction execution and the ability to independently lead workstreams.
- Advanced Financial Modelling: Elite Excel skills with a proven ability to build dynamic, error-free models from scratch, including complex debt, waterfall, and development financing components.
- Sector Knowledge: Strong understanding of data centre fundamentals (e.g., power capacity/MW, cooling topologies, colocation vs. hyperscale leasing structures, and networking infrastructure) is highly preferred.
- Analytical Rigour: Exceptional attention to detail with an ability to synthesize complex technical and financial data into clear, actionable insights.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills tailored for presenting to senior leadership and institutional partners.
- Academic Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a highly quantitative field from a top-tier institution.
