We're on the hunt for a high-impact Business Development Manager to spearhead growth for a regionally expanding design & build studio specializing in workplace transformations. If you thrive on winning new office projects, building C-level relationships, and turning market insights into revenue, you'll own a critical role in our expansion in Kuala Lumpur.
You’ll be the engine behind our client acquisition and revenue growth. From first handshake to signed contract, you’ll drive the full business development cycle for premium office design & build projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pipeline Generation & Market Penetration: Proactively research, identify, and engage companies planning office fit-outs, relocations, or revamps. Leverage your network of commercial transaction agents, PMCs, developers, and brokers to unlock qualified leads and referrals.
- Strategic Client Partnerships: Build trusted, long-term relationships with decision-makers. Deeply understand their brand, culture, budget, and operational needs to shape tailored design & build solutions that win.
- Growth Strategy & Execution: Partner with leadership to craft and execute BD strategies aligned to company goals. Spot market trends, competitor shifts, and untapped segments — then translate them into actionable plans.
- Full-Cycle Sales Leadership: Lead every stage from prospecting and pitch to proposal, negotiation, and close. Deliver compelling presentations, structure winning commercial terms, and secure contracts that balance client value and margin.
- Cross-Functional Deal Shaping: Collaborate closely with design and project teams to ensure client vision is feasible, profitable, and brilliantly executed. Provide commercial input during concept stages to align expectations early.
Industry Authority: Keep your finger on the pulse of workplace design, construction costs, and CRE trends. Represent us at industry events, conferences, and networking forums to elevate brand presence and open doors.
Key Requirements:
Experience & Track Record
- 5+ years in business development/sales, with proven success in interior design, construction, fit-out, or related B2B services
- Demonstrated history of meeting/exceeding sales targets and landing mid-to-large scale office projects
- Negotiation & Closing: Skilled at structuring deals, handling objections, and negotiating pricing, scope, and terms to win-win outcomes
- Networking & Influence: Established connections with commercial agents, PMCs, landlords, and corporate real estate teams. Natural at cultivating new strategic partnerships
- Business Acumen: Sharp understanding of market dynamics, project management, construction workflows, and what drives P&L on design & build jobs
- Communication: Persuasive presenter and writer. Able to distill complex design/construction concepts into clear client value
- Organization: Juggle multiple opportunities, RFPs, and stakeholders without dropping balls. Highly self-directed and deadline-driven
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience
