A rare senior leadership opportunity has arisen with a well-established Singapore architectural consultancy, part of a major global built environment group backed by a government-linked investment platform.

The firm is seeking an accomplished Director – Transport to lead and grow its transport architecture practice in Singapore.

This is a strategic leadership position combining business growth, client engagement, design leadership, project delivery, commercial management and team development. The successful individual will play a pivotal role in strengthening the firm's position across Singapore's transport and infrastructure market, with a particular focus on MRT stations, rail infrastructure, depots, transport interchanges, transit-oriented developments and other complex infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

 Practice & Business Leadership

- Set the strategic direction for the transport architecture practice, driving growth, profitability, design quality and market positioning.
- Identify, pursue and secure major opportunities across rail, transit and transport infrastructure.
- Lead and support strategic bids, tenders, client presentations and design proposals.
- Develop new client relationships while strengthening existing partnerships to build a sustainable pipeline of work.
- Monitor infrastructure investment, procurement trends, regulation, technology and wider market developments to inform business strategy.

Client & Market Engagement
- Build senior-level relationships with clients, government agencies, transport authorities, consultants, contractors and industry partners.
- Represent the organisation in strategic client meetings, industry events and professional forums.
- Lead stakeholder engagement across complex project environments involving authorities, operators, developers, contractors, consultants and community interfaces.
- Facilitate design reviews, technical workshops and approval processes throughout the project lifecycle.

Design & Project Leadership
- Provide senior leadership across major transport projects from feasibility and concept design through design development, tender, construction administration and project close-out.
- Guide teams across station planning, passenger flow, accessibility, fire and life safety, authority requirements, constructability, operational interfaces and project phasing.
- Maintain high standards of architectural design, documentation and technical delivery.
- Ensure design outcomes respond effectively to client briefs, authority requirements, operational considerations and commuter needs.
- Lead multidisciplinary coordination across architecture, engineering, infrastructure, MEP, structural, landscape, interior design, planning, construction and specialist consultants.

Commercial & Project Governance
- Oversee fee proposals, contracts, project budgets, resource planning and payment management.
- Monitor project financial performance, programmes, contractual obligations, variations and risk.
- Ensure projects are appropriately resourced and delivered within agreed quality, budget and programme requirements.
- Establish effective project monitoring and governance processes across the transport portfolio.

People Leadership
- Build, mentor and develop a high-performing team of architects and project leaders.
- Strengthen the firm's transport sector capability and develop future leaders.
- Support succession planning and foster a culture centred on quality, accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Champion BIM, digital coordination, design automation and data-led workflows to improve quality, productivity and delivery certainty.

Key Requirements:
- 20+ years of relevant architectural experience, preferably with significant exposure to rail, MRT, transit, depot, transport interchange or major infrastructure projects.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture.
- Registered Architect status or equivalent professional qualification is preferred.
- Extensive experience leading complex architectural projects from concept design through construction and TOP/CSC.
- Demonstrated experience in complex rail and transport infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of Singapore authority requirements, building codes, accessibility standards, fire and life safety requirements and transport infrastructure delivery processes.
- Comprehensive knowledge of design and construction documentation, tender documentation, construction administration and contract administration.
- Experience working directly with transport, rail or infrastructure clients and stakeholders to develop project briefs, design strategies and delivery requirements.
- Proven capability leading multidisciplinary architectural and engineering teams.
- Strong commercial understanding across fee management, budgeting, resource planning, programme control, contracts and project risk.
- Established senior client-facing capability, including engagement with government agencies, authorities and industry stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit and BIM-based project delivery.
