We are representing a global hyperscale Data Centre Operator with a strong emphasis in the South East Asian region, seeking a business-minded, analytical Finance Director to partner directly with Group Finance Director based in Singapore. This is a high-impact leadership role with visibility across the business and potential for expanded regional responsibility as we scale. This role will be based in Johor Bahru.

You’ll drive strategic financial leadership while maintaining hands-on oversight of day-to-day Accounting & Finance operations. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of strategy, execution, and infrastructure growth.

Key Responsibilties
Strategic Finance & Business Partnering
- Set strategic direction for the Finance function in Malaysia or/and Singapore and support regional initiatives.
- Act as key thought partner to the Group Finance Director, Singapore on critical business decisions — providing financial insights, risk assessments, and actionable mitigation strategies.
- Analyse market dynamics and financial trends to inform long-term strategic planning and growth initiatives.
- Lead company-wide budgetary planning; own, review, and enforce budget discipline across all business units.

Operational Finance Leadership
- Oversee all day-to-day Accounting & Finance operations for Malaysia and/or Singapore, including AR/AP, GST, tax, statutory audit, and cost management.
- Manage third-party service providers to ensure seamless, compliant finance operations.
- Ensure full compliance with statutory regulations, accounting standards, and corporate governance requirements.

Reporting, Analysis & Treasury
- Lead preparation of monthly financial reporting packs, variance analysis, budgets, and cash flow forecasts for Group HQ.
- Highlight key risks and opportunities with clear recommendations for action.
- Support loan administration, including ongoing covenant compliance and lender reporting for existing bank facilities.

Commercial & Growth Support
- Provide financial support on customer contracts, pricing, and commercial structuring.
- Partner with Procurement on spend governance, with particular focus on CapEx for data centre development and expansion.
- Support M&A activities including due diligence, financial modelling, and post-transaction integration/stabilisation.

Key Requirements:
- Degree in Accountancy / ACCA or equivalent; qualified Chartered Accountant or CPA.
- 15+ years of relevant experience, with at least 8 years in managerial roles. SEA regional exposure preferred.
- Strong strategic thinking and commercial acumen, paired with rigorous analytical skills.
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and communicate complex financial concepts clearly.
- Experience with Oracle NetSuite is a strong advantage.
- Meticulous, organised, and able to perform under pressure in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Agile mindset — comfortable operating in a lean team while navigating a global, multifaceted organisation.
