As part of its continued growth, the firm is seeking an experienced Project Director – Healthcare to provide senior leadership across the design and delivery of major healthcare projects.

This is a key leadership position for an accomplished architectural professional who can combine **design leadership, project delivery, client management and team leadership**, while maintaining high standards of quality from concept development through construction and completion.


 Key Responsibilities

Design & Project Leadership
- Lead the overall architectural design and project delivery strategy for major healthcare developments.
- Establish clear design direction and ensure projects remain aligned with the client brief, programme, budget and quality objectives.
- Lead the development of conceptual, schematic and detailed architectural designs through to construction documentation and delivery.
- Review design work and provide clear direction to architects and designers to maintain consistent quality and design intent.
- Incorporate relevant design approaches, technologies and industry practices where appropriate to enhance project outcomes.

Project Delivery & Management
- Take overall responsibility for project delivery across design, technical coordination, construction documentation, tender and contract administration.
- Establish and monitor project programmes, resources, budgets and delivery milestones.
- Manage project costs and resource deployment while maintaining design quality and programme objectives.
- Oversee project documentation and ensure deliverables are prepared to the required standards and timelines.
- Identify and address project issues in a timely manner, working with the relevant stakeholders to achieve effective resolutions.

Client & Stakeholder Management
- Act as a senior point of contact for clients and client representatives throughout the project lifecycle.
- Present design proposals, strategies and project recommendations clearly to clients and key stakeholders.
- Develop effective working relationships with clients, consultants, contractors and other project stakeholders.
- Lead project meetings, design coordination sessions and stakeholder discussions to maintain alignment and progress.
- Understand and respond to client requirements while maintaining the integrity of the overall project objectives.

Team & Resource Leadership
- Lead and mentor architectural and multidisciplinary project teams, providing direction and support throughout project development and delivery.
- Plan and allocate resources across architects, designers, sub-consultants and other project personnel according to project requirements.
- Coordinate effectively with engineering consultants and specialist disciplines.
- Encourage collaboration, accountability and effective communication across project teams.
- Support the development of team capabilities and contribute to continuous improvement in project delivery practices.

Technical, Regulatory & Quality Assurance
- Ensure projects comply with applicable statutory requirements, building regulations, codes, standards and accessibility requirements.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of documentation required for relevant authority approvals.
- Maintain appropriate quality assurance processes throughout design development and project delivery.
- Provide technical oversight across design development, construction documentation, tender and contract administration.
- Apply sound knowledge of construction materials, methodologies and technical requirements throughout project delivery.

Key Requirements
- Registered Architect with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture
- Extensive professional experience in architecture and project delivery, with the source brief specifying 20+ years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated experience leading large-scale and complex architectural projects from concept through to construction and completion.
- Experience in healthcare projects is preferred, with knowledge of healthcare design principles and standards advantageous.
- Strong understanding of the complete architectural process, including design development, construction documentation, tender and contract administration.
- Experience engaging healthcare clients and stakeholders in developing and refining detailed project briefs.
- Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, accessibility standards, technical compliance and construction methodologies.
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary architectural and project teams and coordinate effectively with engineering consultants and sub-consultants.
- Strong project, time and resource management capabilities.
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation and stakeholder communication skills.
- Sound design judgement and an appreciation for architectural quality and aesthetics.
- Working knowledge of relevant 2D/3D CAD and modelling platforms, including AutoCAD and Revit.
