We are looking for a hands-on Senior Accountant / Assistant Finance Manager who is not simply looking to maintain the numbers, but wants to strengthen the foundations of a growing finance organisation, improve processes and bring greater rigour, visibility and control to the business.
This is a highly visible role for an accounting professional who enjoys being close to the detail, takes ownership of issues from start to finish, and is energised by the opportunity to make things better. You will play a central role across financial reporting, month-end close, audit, tax, balance sheet governance, controls and finance transformation, while also helping develop and mentor a growing finance team.

- Drive improvements to accounting processes, controls and SOPs.
- Work closely with auditors, tax advisors and internal stakeholders across the business.
- Help resolve legacy accounting issues and establish more robust financial practices.
- Coach and develop junior finance professionals.
- Partner with the Head of Finance on transformation, systems and strategic finance initiatives.
This is particularly suited to someone who is commercially curious, technically strong and comfortable getting into the detail rather than operating purely at a supervisory level.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Reporting & Month-End Close
- Lead and coordinate monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing activities.
- Review journals, accruals, provisions, prepayments and other accounting adjustments.
- Ensure financial information is accurate, complete and delivered within reporting timelines.
- Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and underlying accounting records.
- Prepare and review management reporting and supporting schedules.
- Perform detailed review of balance sheet reconciliations and investigate unusual movements.
- Identify accounting issues early and drive them through to resolution.
2. Audit, Statutory Reporting & Compliance
- Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors throughout the annual audit cycle.
- Coordinate audit planning, information requests and supporting schedules.
- Prepare and review documentation required for statutory financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and local regulatory requirements.
- Proactively identify and resolve audit issues and recommendations.
- Strengthen the organisation's overall audit readiness.
3. Tax & Regulatory Matters
- Oversee GST reporting and related compliance requirements.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors on corporate income tax and other tax matters.
- Support tax audits, queries and regulatory reviews.
- Monitor changes in accounting and tax regulations and assess their potential impact on the business.
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely compliance.
4. Balance Sheet Ownership & Governance
- Take ownership of the quality and integrity of the balance sheet.
- Review aged, unreconciled and historical items and drive appropriate resolution.
- Establish clear account ownership and robust reconciliation practices.
- Lead initiatives to clean up legacy accounting balances and improve financial hygiene.
- Develop stronger balance sheet review and governance disciplines across the finance function.
5. Controls, Systems & Finance Transformation
- Strengthen internal accounting controls and governance frameworks.
- Review and document finance processes, policies and SOPs.
- Identify opportunities to automate manual activities and improve reporting efficiency.
- Support ERP, finance system and workflow enhancements.
- Challenge existing processes and implement practical improvements.
- Contribute to the broader transformation of the finance function as the business scales across Southeast Asia.
6. Team Leadership & Development
- Provide technical guidance, coaching and day-to-day support to junior finance team members.
- Review accounting work performed across transactional and accounting functions.
- Support the development of capabilities across AP, AR and general accounting.
- Encourage stronger ownership, accountability and attention to detail within the team.
- Help create a finance culture focused on accuracy, continuous improvement and business partnership.
7. Business & Commercial Support
- Provide accounting and financial guidance to operational and commercial stakeholders.
- Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities where required.
- Partner with FP&A and business leaders to resolve financial and accounting matters.
- Translate accounting information into meaningful insights for management.
- Support the Head of Finance on strategic projects, regional expansion and finance transformation initiatives.
Key Qualifications
- Degree in Accountancy, Finance or a related discipline.
- CA Singapore, ACCA, CPA or equivalent professional qualification is preferred.
Experience
- Approximately 8–12 years of relevant accounting and finance experience.
- Strong technical experience across:
- Full month-end and year-end closing
- Financial reporting
- Balance sheet management and reconciliations
- External audit
- GST and tax compliance
- Internal controls
- Accounting processes and governance
- Exposure to finance transformation, ERP implementation or process improvement initiatives is highly valued.
- Regional or multi-entity experience across Southeast Asia would be an advantage.
- Strong grounding in accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Excellent Excel and financial analysis capabilities.
- Comfortable working with ERP and finance systems.
- Strong analytical ability with a natural instinct for identifying discrepancies and root causes.
- Able to navigate complex accounting issues and translate them into practical solutions.
