We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with a solid consultancy background to join a multidisciplinary firm specialising in building services engineering. The successful candidate will play a key technical and supervisory role in the planning, design, installation and commissioning of electrical engineering works for high-quality building projects in Singapore.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the planning and design of electrical engineering systems and services for buildings, including power distribution, lighting, LV/MV systems, earthing/lighting protection, emergency systems and other related building services.
- Prepare tender documentation, design drawings, technical specifications and schedules of quantities for tenders; evaluate tender submissions and assist in recommending contractors.
- Supervise installation, testing & commissioning (T&C), and hand-over of electrical works on site; oversee quality, safety, cost and schedule compliance.
- Collaborate with engineers of other disciplines (mechanical, structural, architectural, fire protection) during feasibility studies and design development to ensure integrated delivery and excellent client service.
- Provide leadership and oversight of the supervision team on site (Resident Engineers / Resident Technical Officers) for electrical installations, ensuring workmanship, documentation and compliance are maintained.
- Manage contract administration for construction contracts: review and manage variation orders, progress payments, site instructions, claims management and coordination with contractors and client.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards (e.g., Singapore / international building services / electrical codes), and company quality, health & safety frameworks throughout design and site execution.
- Contribute to value-engineering initiatives, cost control, and continuous improvement of engineering processes.
Key qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years in a consultancy firm engaged in building services engineering for building projects.
- Proven experience in the full project lifecycle: design, tendering, site supervision, testing/commissioning and hand-over of electrical/building services systems.
- Strong contract administration experience on construction contracts (variations, claims, site supervision teams).
- Excellent technical knowledge of electrical building services systems and ability to integrate with other disciplines.
- Good leadership and communication skills, able to coordinate with multiple stakeholders (clients, consultants, contractors, site teams).
- Self-driven, organised and able to manage multiple tasks, deadlines and priorities.
- Familiarity with and adherence to local regulatory requirements and codes is a plus.
