We are partnering with a leading multidisciplinary consultancy in Singapore that delivers integrated design, engineering, project management, and cost consultancy services for complex public and institutional developments across the region. The firm is seeking an experienced Principal Quantity Surveyor to lead cost and contract management functions for major institutional building projects.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the full spectrum of quantity surveying and cost management duties for institutional and large-scale building projects, including cost estimation, tender documentation, procurement advice, and contract administration.
- Prepare and manage Bills of Quantities (BoQ), tender evaluations, variation orders, progress claims, and final account settlements.
- Provide expert cost and contractual advice to clients and stakeholders, ensuring compliance with relevant standards such as PSSCOC.
- Supervise and mentor junior QS team members, reviewing work outputs to ensure quality, consistency, and accuracy.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (architectural, structural, M&E, project management) to deliver value-engineered solutions and maintain cost efficiency.
- Monitor project budgets, prepare cost reports and forecasts, and implement cost control strategies to keep projects within approved budgets.
- Manage client presentations and represent the QS function confidently in project meetings and reviews.
Key qualifications:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Building, or related discipline.
- 11–12 years of total experience, with at least 5–6 years in a consultancy firm managing institutional projects (e.g., schools, hospitals, or public facilities).
- Strong knowledge of PSSCOC, contract administration, tender preparation, and cost planning.
- Proven ability to handle projects independently, demonstrating leadership, initiative, and sound judgment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with a professional and analytical approach.
- Ability to mentor and lead a small QS team effectively.
