We are supporting a boutique design consultancy known for crafting thoughtful, experience-driven interior environments across hospitality, residential, and lifestyle sectors. The studio is seeking an Associate Designer to join its Singapore team.

This role is ideal for a designer who is equally strong in design leadership and client-facing responsibilities, functioning as the Creative Director’s second-in-command. The ideal candidate will be capable of running projects independently after briefing, leading both creative output and team coordination while maintaining a hands-on approach to design.

Key Responsibilities

– Lead and drive holistic design from concept to completion, ensuring creative direction is translated cohesively across all stages
– Function as the second-in-command to the Creative Director, taking over full project ownership after initial direction
– Prepare and deliver compelling design presentations, pitch materials, and narratives to clients and operators
– Build, maintain, and expand client relationships, representing the studio across meetings, presentations, and workshops
– Oversee and coordinate project workflows, assigning tasks, managing resources, and ensuring deadlines are met
– Guide, mentor, and review the work of junior designers to maintain quality and consistency
– Develop design documentation, including detailed drawings, specifications, and schedules
– Collaborate with the Studio Director and Studio Manager on project resourcing, timelines, and studio operations
– Uphold strong technical standards across CAD documentation, 3D modelling, and design detailing
– Apply practical knowledge and industry norms — e.g., furniture dimensions, clearances, ergonomic standards — instinctively and accurately
– Conduct site visits, review mock-ups, and resolve design issues with contractors and consultants

Key Requirements

– Min 10 to 12 years of experience in interior design, ideally within hospitality, specifically in resorts
– Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Interior Architecture, or related field
– Strong design capability with a portfolio demonstrating concept strength, spatial sensitivity, and refined detailing
– Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and 3D visualisation tools (e.g., Enscape, V-Ray); Adobe Creative Suite proficiency required
– Confident presenter with strong verbal and visual communication skills
– Ability to run projects independently, including clients, consultants, operators, and internal teams
– Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring or supervising junior designers
– Practical knowledge of furniture dimensions, ergonomics, and hospitality design standards
– Excellent time management, resource planning, and project coordination abilities
– Calm, solutions-driven, and able to handle fast-paced, multi-project studio environments
