We are representing a well-regarded interior design consultancy, originally founded in Singapore, that specializes in creating bespoke spaces across commercial, retail, hospitality, and residential sectors. The firm is currently seeking a Designers for their Malaysia branch.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to space planning, conceptual design, and design development phases
- Ensure all drawings and materials comply with regulations and client requirements; manage approvals and sign-offs
- Collaborate with the design team to define design direction and deliver innovative, client focused solutions
- Conduct site analysis and inventory assessments; develop design presentation materials
- Produce 2D and 3D renderings or artist impressions to communicate design intent
- Serve as the main design liaison; attend meetings, present concepts, and maintain communication
- Translate concepts into technical drawings and oversee the preparation of construction and tender documentation
- Support the tender and construction phases through site observations and coordination with stakeholders
- Liaise with external parties for material sourcing, quotations, and regulatory compliance
- Monitor project timelines and budgets to support successful, on-time delivery
- Uphold internal design standards; provide quality control, mentorship to juniors, and contribute to improvement
- Maintain the material library and assist with design-related administrative tasks
Key qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field
- Min. 3 to 4 years of professional experience in interior design, with exposure to commercial and corporate offices
- Demonstrated ability to lead design concepts and manage end-to-end project delivery, from ideation through construction
- A compelling portfolio showcasing design excellence across medium to large-scale interior design projects
- Strong knowledge of interior design principles, including space planning, materials, finishes, lighting, and furniture specifications
- Skilled in client communication and presentations, with confidence in managing client relationships and design review
