We're seeking a highly skilled Corporate Accountant to join our Japan office, reporting to our CFO based in Canada. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong relationships with investors, and driving financial planning and analysis. This role will also involve mentoring and developing our existing accounting team in Japan, with potential for future career progression to a more senior role.

Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for investors, including consolidated financial statements and management reports
• Maintain strong relationships with investors, responding to inquiries and providing financial insights
• Collaborate with the CFO and finance team to drive financial planning and analysis, including budgeting and forecasting
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies
• Mentor and develop 2 existing accountants in Japan, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and knowledge
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency and effectiveness

Key Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• Minimum 8 years of experience in corporate accounting or fund controlling, ideally with experience reporting to investors
• Strong technical accounting skills, with expertise in financial reporting and analysis
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build strong relationships with investors and finance teams
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to drive financial planning and analysis
• Fluent in Basic English and Japanese, with ability to communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
