Key Responsibilities:
- Develop electrical design strategies for new data center projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, engineers, and contractors, to develop comprehensive electrical designs that meet the requirements of the data center.
- Design and optimize power distribution systems for data center facilities, considering redundancy, efficiency, and scalability.
- Evaluate and select appropriate electrical equipment and components to support the power distribution needs of the data center.
- Ensure compliance with local electrical codes and regulations for all power distribution systems.
- Conduct load assessments and capacity planning to determine the electrical requirements of data center projects.
- Develop long-term strategies to accommodate growth and future capacity needs of the data centers.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to forecast power consumption and plan for expansion or infrastructure upgrades accordingly.
- Manage electrical design projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external contractors to ensure successful execution of electrical design projects.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to minimize potential disruptions.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in data center electrical design, emerging technologies, and industry trends.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering and operations teams regarding electrical systems and infrastructure.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Advanced degree is a plus.
- Extensive experience (7-10 years) in data center electrical design, with a focus on power distribution systems and infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations relevant to data center design.
- Proficient in electrical design software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP, SKM).
- Demonstrated experience in project management, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Professional certifications in electrical engineering or data center design (e.g., PE, RCDD) are highly desirable.
- Knowledge of sustainable and energy-efficient design practices for data centers is a plus.
