Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Critical Operations: Take the helm of our data center's critical operations, providing exceptional daily leadership to 24x7 crews. Your mission: to operate and maintain our essential engineering infrastructure, systems, and equipment safely, efficiently, and with unwavering reliability, ensuring 100% uptime.
- Expert Guidance: Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in critical electrical/mechanical systems, infrastructure, and operational best practices. You'll be the go-to person for complex problem-solving and ensuring our solutions consistently meet and exceed customer expectations.
- Asset Protection & Enhancement: Act as a custodian of our assets, protecting and enhancing their value. You'll ensure all critical systems are performing flawlessly, driving continuous improvement to guarantee their intended function and longevity.
- Hands-On Leadership: Bring your hands-on operations knowledge to the forefront, especially during system troubleshooting. You'll actively manage data center operations, maintenance, and oversee modifications to all critical environment systems, including mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and Building Monitoring Systems (BMS).
- Command Center Excellence: Oversee the command center's impeccable operation, ensuring our team expertly handles building management system monitoring, incident management, problem management, and change management with professionalism and precision.
- Unyielding Compliance: Champion customer Service Level Agreement (SLA) compliance, maintaining optimal data center environmental conditions, ensuring full critical system uptime, and orchestrating rapid incident escalation and comprehensive reporting.
- Process & Safety Advocate: Drive adherence to Change Management Workflow Processes, including Change Request Forms, work method statements, and LOTO procedures. Develop, update, and rigorously execute MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs, fostering a culture of continuous learning and regulatory compliance. Collaborate closely with EHS to identify and remediate safety hazards, ensuring a safe working environment for all.
- Strategic Planning & Growth: Spearhead the renewal of 52-week or annual operational plans based on client schedules. Develop robust capacity management plans encompassing infrastructure upgrades, equipment replacements, and building modifications to future-proof our facilities.
- Collaboration & Communication: Foster seamless communication with technical teams, customers, and vendors. Work alongside our Critical Facility Management (CFM) team to deliver timely customer reports, ensuring full compliance with contracted SLAs.
- Talent Development: Ensure CFM and vendors receive effective and consistent training, qualifying them for critical environment work.
- Dedication & Agility: Demonstrate exceptional personal accountability, technical expertise, and a strong formal conduct of operations. Be prepared to operate beyond office hours and public holidays during emergencies, providing critical support and 24x7 on-call availability.
- Innovation Driver: Stay at the cutting edge of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in data center operations. Actively seek and implement opportunities for process improvements, automation, and innovation to boost operational effectiveness and scalability.
Key Requirements:
- Education: A Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Facility Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience: 8+ years of hands-on experience in critical operations within a data center environment.
- Certifications: CDCP or CDFOM certification is a huge plus.
Technical Savvy: Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word, Building Management Systems (BMS), Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)/Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, and Microsoft Power BI.
