We are representing a leading data center owner and operator, constantly challenging the status quo in how facilities are built and operated. The team integrates innovative, environmentally efficient technologies and advanced construction methods to enable rapid deployment of secure cloud and hyperscale environments. If you're ready to be the subject matter expert driving mechanical engineering excellence from design through to operations, we want you on our team!

The Opportunity: This is a pivotal role where you will serve as the Mechanical Engineer subject matter expert, providing crucial advice and leadership to our Design and Engineering team. You’ll oversee mechanical engineering design functions for both new developments and ongoing maintenance, ensuring we deliver innovative, cost-effective, and energy-efficient solutions. You'll partner with internal teams and external stakeholders, championing our design philosophy and contributing to the strategic vision of our data center infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design Leadership: Oversee mechanical engineering design for our data centers, from development projects to maintenance and upgrades, driving innovation and adhering to the highest quality standards.
- Technical Expertise: Provide expert review, guidance, and solutions for development projects and ongoing maintenance, ensuring energy efficiency and physical security are paramount.
- Equipment Specification: Work closely with regional vendors and manufacturers to specify appropriate mechanical equipment (e.g., AHUs, CRACs, Chillers,
- Cooling Towers, Fire Detection/Suppression systems), reviewing and approving all equipment submittals.
- Documentation & Standardization: Generate, maintain, and disseminate critical specification documents and project-specific Scope of Work (SOW) documents across APAC regions, including Korea, Australia, and New Zealand.
- Collaboration & Partnership: Liaise collaboratively with Project Development and Operations teams, offering cost-effective design solutions and building strategic relationships with consultants, construction partners, and clients.
- Project Support: Assist with vendor selection, bid review, and RFI support, and manage mechanical engineering functions to achieve technical, operational, and long-term company goals.
- Commissioning & Compliance: Prepare commissioning plans, procedures, and documentation, coordinating with all stakeholders. Advise on due diligence and compliance reports for new and existing sites.
- Sustainability Driver: Actively strive for environmental sustainability and carbon-neutrality in all designs and solutions.

Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a professional Engineer license (PE).
PMI or other project management certifications are desirable.
- 10+ years of cumulative data center design experience; co-location experience is a plus.
- Direct experience in data center or other mission-critical facility design (e.g., Pharmaceutical, Hospital, Semi-Conductor projects).
- Demonstrated experience in mission-critical facilities design management and project management.
- Proven experience working with regional vendors and manufacturers to specify and approve mechanical equipment (AHUs, CRACs, Chillers, Cooling Towers, etc.).
- Broad knowledge of data center development, design, construction, commissioning, and operation.
- Understanding of Building Information Modeling (BIM) & Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modeling.
- Ability to operate with little supervision, delivering results in a highly secure critical environment.
- Strong project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a drive for results and the ability to multitask.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the interpersonal ability to gain respect and support from management and employees.
