We are representing a renowned, rapidly expanding hyperscale data centre developer and operator, delivering mission-critical digital infrastructure across the region. As demand for cloud computing, AI, and high-density data solutions accelerates, the team is scaling aggressively in Malaysia, with Johor Bahru as a key strategic hub.

We are seeking an experienced and driven Project Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of complex data centre projects — from technical due diligence and design coordination through to construction, commissioning, and stakeholder handover.

This is a high-impact role responsible for managing hyperscale data centre projects in a fast-growing, technically demanding environment. You will work cross-functionally with internal engineering teams, commercial stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and vendors to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to mission-critical standards.

The ideal candidate brings strong technical depth in data centre infrastructure, excellent project governance, and the ability to navigate complex stakeholder and vendor ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities
1. Project Planning & Delivery
- Lead and coordinate internal teams and external consultants/vendors for technical due diligence of new and existing developments.
- Ensure flawless execution of projects from initiation through completion, meeting scope, schedule, cost, and quality objectives.
- Assist in defining project scope, objectives, deliverables, and technical feasibility in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans to monitor progress and track milestones.

2. Technical & Commercial Coordination
- Develop and recommend technical solutions and commercial strategies aligned with project, country, and business objectives.
- Participate in RFx responses, technical presentations, consultations, and commercial proposals.
- Provide product information, value engineering input, and bills of materials to support business development activities.
- Initiate technology improvements or customisations based on market needs, customer requirements, and competitive landscape.

3. Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Manage relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate third-party vendors to ensure alignment with project requirements and delivery standards.
- Report project status, risks, and issues to management and escalate as required.

4. Risk, Change & Quality Management
- Perform proactive risk management to identify, assess, and mitigate project risks.
- Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and cost using structured control and verification processes.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards throughout the project lifecycle.

5. Documentation, Handover & Close-Out
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including design records, schedules, budgets, and reports.
- Ensure proper handover and transition to operations and stakeholders upon project completion.
- Coordinate commissioning, testing, and final acceptance activities.

6. Leadership & Capability Building
- Train, mentor, and motivate junior team members and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Provide technical guidance and project leadership to ensure consistent delivery excellence.

Key Requirements & Experience
 -Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil) or a related technical discipline.
- Proven experience in data centre infrastructure design, technologies, operations, and maintenance of mission-critical facilities.
- Demonstrated track record managing data centre projects from design through construction and successful handover.
- Strong understanding of critical systems such as power, cooling, redundancy architectures, and resilience requirements.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Project, AutoCAD, and BIM tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with strong root cause analysis capability.
- Experience working in fast-paced, multi-stakeholder project environments.
- Strong communication, coordination, and leadership skills.
