We are working closely with a leading digital infrastructure operator in revolutionizing the data centre industry with a groundbreaking focus on sustainability, cutting-edge connectivity, and the power of AI. The team is not just building data centres; it is crafting the next generation of digital ecosystems, empowering the global digitalization wave, and seeking passionate innovators to co-create our future. This is your chance to gain invaluable experience in a hyper-growth sector and make a tangible impact!
We're looking for an Engineering Commissioning Manager to lead the charge in ensuring our critical infrastructure systems are nothing short of perfect. You'll be the linchpin validating that every mechanical, electrical, and control system meets our exacting standards for performance, reliability, and efficiency, from design through to operational handover.
Key Responsibilities:
- Spearhead the end-to-end commissioning process (Factory Acceptance Testing, Site Acceptance Testing, Integrated Systems Testing, Performance Verification) for assigned APAC projects, managing external commissioning consultants to achieve excellence.
- Conduct rigorous reviews of commissioning plans, scripts, and checklists, ensuring every system performs precisely to design intent.
- Drive world-class safety and quality standards, collaborating closely with our internal Development and Design teams to meet both Singtel's global best practices and our customer's stringent requirements.
- Seamlessly coordinate between consultants, contractors, vendors, and operations, facilitating a smooth transition from construction to live operation.
- Oversee comprehensive functional performance testing (FPT) and critical failure mode testing (e.g., UPS switchover, generator load banks, cooling failover) to guarantee robust system resilience.
- Proactively identify and resolve any design flaws, installation errors, or performance gaps long before facility go-live.
- Optimize the implementation of commissioning documentation on our advanced platforms and conduct regular onsite reviews and audits across APAC.
- Bring deep knowledge of both Mechanical and Electrical systems, with specific expertise in ACMV, Hydraulic systems, and the thermodynamics refrigeration cycle. You’ll confidently interpret complex engineering calculations (cooling load, hydraulic) and expertly size and select equipment (chillers, pumps, cooling towers, air handlers).
- Scrutinize the design of critical mechanical, electrical, and control systems (cooling, power distribution, UPS, generators, fire suppression, BMS) for new builds, fit-outs, and retrofits.
- Meticulously review consultant designs (30%, 60%, 90%), shop drawings, as-built drawings, design specifications, and O&M manuals.
- Ensure absolute compliance with local regulatory requirements, energy efficiency targets, and client SLAs, balancing innovation with adherence.
- Champion our "lessons learned" process for each project, translating insights into actionable mitigation strategies for future implementations.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum 8 years of progressive experience, with at least 4 years specifically in mission-critical design environments.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- An in-depth, hands-on understanding of critical data centre mechanical and electrical systems.
- Proven ability to read and interpret complex technical specifications, data sheets, design documents, and construction drawings.
- Exceptional leadership and advanced problem-solving capabilities.
- A highly motivated, dependable, and proactive individual who thrives on challenges.
- Extensive knowledge of large-scale mission-critical facility mechanical infrastructure systems, coupled with a creative mindset to innovate and optimize costs without compromising quality or reliability.
- Outstanding communication skills and meticulous attention to detail, consistently upholding the highest quality standards.
- The aptitude to perform insightful business case analyses, justifying technical decisions and presenting compelling justifications to senior management.
- Fluent (read/write/speak) in English; proficiency in any other language is a distinct advantage.
- Solid knowledge of relevant building codes and regulations.
- Experience coordinating with project teams on crucial matters of Environmental Sustainability, green ratings, and building performance.
