We are working with a premier data centre operator, who is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to oversee and guide a shift-based operations team within a live critical environment. This leadership role ensures 24/7/365 operational support, system reliability, and emergency readiness across a high-availability data centre.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a designated shift team, ensuring uninterrupted operations and 100% uptime of critical power infrastructure.
- Plan and coordinate daily activities for the shift team, ensuring full coverage of operational, maintenance, and monitoring duties across all systems (MEP, EPMS, BMS, Fire Alarms, etc.).
- Oversee maintenance tasks, including the preparation and verification of permits, method statements, and safety documents for vendor activities in compliance with site protocols.
- Assign and prioritize both planned and unplanned work orders (PPMs/TTs), ensuring all tasks are completed and recorded in the CAFM system to maintain full compliance.
- Monitor ongoing site activities in collaboration with the Critical Maintenance Manager and maintain real-time situational awareness of all operations during your shift.
- Ensure timely response to system alarms and that the Facility Operations Centre (FOC) is continuously staffed and functioning.
- Review and sign off on subcontractor compliance documents (RAMS, MSDS) and ensure all personnel are inducted and authorized before commencing work.
- Maintain accurate shift handover reports and communicate key updates to stakeholders via the site reporting channels.
- Ensure adherence to workplace safety, environmental, and operational protocols; conduct regular toolbox talks and safety drills.
- Serve as the escalation point and shift cover when necessary, including for emergency, holiday, or medical absences.
- Support documentation and development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs, MOPs, EOPs, etc.) and participate in periodic drills and compliance initiatives.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience in data centre operations or critical infrastructure environments.
- Strong leadership capability in managing technical teams in a 24/7 operational setup.
- Familiarity with CAFM systems, safety protocols, and vendor coordination.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and cover shifts at short notice as required by business demands.
- Strong understanding of site emergency response frameworks and operational risk management.
