Our client is a growing hospitality group operating luxury hotels and resorts domestically and internationally. We are committed to providing memorable guest experiences through high-quality service. As the company expands, we are strengthening our HR function to support organizational growth, and are seeking an experienced HR Manager.
Position Summary
The HR Manager will own the design and execution of human capital strategies, ensuring that HR functions support the company’s growth and organizational objectives. Fluency in both Japanese and English is required. The role allows for selective outsourcing, leveraging external partners to optimize HR operations and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
1. HR Strategy & Planning
- Partner with executive leadership to develop and implement mid- to long-term HR strategies (recruitment, learning & development, compensation, organizational development).
- Manage headcount planning and labor cost budgeting.
2. Recruitment & Talent Management
- Lead recruitment initiatives, particularly targeting bilingual talent.
- Prioritize candidates with experience in B2C sectors such as hospitality or food & beverage, though this is not strictly required.
- Develop and implement staffing and mobility plans.
3.Learning & Development
- Design and execute training programs to develop organizational capabilities.
- Implement coaching and career path frameworks.
- Oversee performance management systems.
4. Compensation & Benefits
- Design and maintain competitive compensation structures (salary, bonuses, incentives).
- Conduct market benchmarking and ensure competitive reward packages.
- Oversee benefits administration and compliance.
5. HR Operations & Outsourcing
- Optimize payroll, social insurance, and HR operations processes.
- Engage trusted external vendors for outsourced HR functions as appropriate.
- Drive operational efficiency and accuracy through automation and process improvement.
6. Coverage & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and HR-related regulations.
- Analyze workforce risks (turnover, retention) and implement mitigation measures.
- Build strong relationships with external consultants and outsourced partners.
Key Requirements
- Fluent in Japanese and English (both written and spoken).
- Proven hands-on HR experience, particularly in recruitment, talent development, compensation design, and labor management.
- Experience in B2C industries such as hospitality or food & beverage preferred but not required.
- Budget management and cost control experience.
- Experience managing external partners or outsourced HR functions.
- Knowledge of Japanese labor laws and social insurance systems.
- Strong analytical skills to work with HR metrics (KPI, turnover, retention, etc.).
- Project management skills.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills (executives, department heads, external partners).
