We are currently representing a prominent Japanese real estate investment advisor with a strong track record of success in the industry. The team is currently finalizing its second opportunistic closed-ended fund, which is set to be our highest yet, with backing from prestigious investors including US, Middle Eastern, and North American pension funds. As it prepares to deploy the substantial investment capital, it is seeking a dynamic and experienced Investment Manager to lead the projects and drive the successful execution of our investment strategy.

The Investment Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing the deployment of investment capital within its second opportunistic closed-ended real estate fund. Reporting directly to senior management, the Investment Manager will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and executing real estate investment opportunities in line with our investment objectives and risk parameters. The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of the real estate market, strong financial acumen, and proven experience in managing complex real estate transactions.


Key Responsibilities:

Deal Sourcing and Analysis:
- Identify and source potential real estate investment opportunities across various asset classes and geographies.
- Conduct comprehensive due diligence, financial analysis, and risk assessment of prospective investments.
- Develop investment thesis and present investment recommendations to senior management and investment committee.

Transaction Execution:
- Lead negotiations, structuring, and execution of real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, and financing arrangements.
- Work closely with legal, financial, and other external advisors to ensure smooth transaction closings.
- Manage deal underwriting process, including financial modeling, scenario analysis, and sensitivity testing.

Portfolio Management:
- Monitor and manage the performance of existing real estate investments within the fund's portfolio.
- Implement value-add strategies to optimize asset performance and enhance investment returns.
- Conduct regular portfolio reviews and prepare performance reports for investors and stakeholders.

Relationship Management:
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, partners, brokers, and other industry professionals.
- Represent the company in meetings, conferences, and industry events to enhance visibility and network within the real estate community.

Team Leadership:
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior team members within the investment team.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture, encouraging teamwork, innovation, and professional development.

Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Business Administration, or related field; advanced degree (MBA, MSF, etc.) preferred.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in real estate investment management, with a proven track record of successfully executing complex transactions.
- Strong understanding of real estate finance, financial modeling, and investment analysis techniques.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Native Japanese language is required
- CFA, CAIA, or similar professional certifications preferred.
