Job Description:

As a Retail Financial Analyst who can be based in Singapore or Malaysia, you will play a critical role in supporting financial planning, analysis, and decision-making processes within our retail organization. You will be responsible for analyzing financial data, developing different types of store investment models, preparing capex forecast reports, validating each new store’s lease period financial forecast, and providing actionable insights to optimize store performance and support strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Modeling: Develop and maintain financial models for various store types to evaluate the performance and viability of retail operations in key SEA countries, and conduct investment viability analysis for various store types and formats
  • New Store Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis and due diligence for new stores proposed by each country’s real estate team, including modifying the financial models, align key assumptions with various stakeholders, and preparing investment parameters to support decision-making by senior management
  • Financial Reporting: Work with Finance team closely to prepare regular investment reports and dashboards to track store performance against targets, highlighting key trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. Provide recommendations to optimize financial outcomes and achieve business objectives
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the annual budgeting process by coordinating the capex requirements with new store expansion plan from each country
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments, including operations, marketing, and merchandising, to gather data, validate assumptions, and align financial goals with operational strategies. Act as a liaison between finance and other departments to ensure financial considerations are integrated into decision-making processes

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field is a must. Advanced degrees or professional certifications such as CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) are highly valued
  • Proven experience in financial analysis, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience
  • Experience in developing financial investment models is essential
  • Strong proficiency in financial modelling and forecasting techniques
  • Exposure to Southeast Asia (SEA) markets is not required but would be considered an advantage
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present findings and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strategic mindset with a focus on driving business performance and delivering actionable insights
  • Knowledge of retail operations, market dynamics, and consumer behavior is a plus
